In short

Autohisab Bridge is a printing companion for Autohisab, our business management software. Its only job is to receive print jobs from your Autohisab account and send them to a thermal receipt printer on your local network or connected by USB.

It has no business features of its own and is not usable without an Autohisab account. It collects no personal information beyond what is needed to know which device and outlet a print job belongs to. It contains no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.

What the app sends to us

This is the complete list.

  • The pairing code you enter or scan once, to link this device to your outlet. Codes are short-lived and single-use.
  • A device name and platform label — for example "Counter tablet" and "android" — so you can tell your paired devices apart inside Autohisab. The name is yours to choose.
  • A pairing token identifying this device to our server. We store only a hash of it, never the token itself.
  • The outlet it is paired to, and the staff member who paired it, so print jobs reach the right counter and you can see who set the device up.
  • Status signals — a periodic "last seen" timestamp, whether the printer is currently reachable, and which printer capabilities the device offers. This is what lets Autohisab warn you that a bridge or printer has gone offline instead of failing silently.
  • Error diagnostics when a print fails, so the failure can be shown to you and to our support team.

What the app does not collect

  • No location data of any kind, precise or approximate.
  • No contacts, photos, files, messages, or call logs.
  • No advertising identifier. There is no advertising in the app.
  • No analytics, usage tracking, or profiling.
  • No microphone or audio access.
  • Nothing is shared with data brokers, advertisers, or any third party for their own purposes.

Permissions, and why each one exists

Camera — optional

Used for exactly one thing: reading a pairing QR code displayed on another screen. The camera image is processed on your device to read that code and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. You can decline the permission and pair by typing the code instead; the app is fully functional without camera access.

Notifications

Android requires a visible notification while a foreground service is running. That notification is how the app tells you it is active and whether printing is healthy.

Foreground service, wake lock, run at startup

A print bridge is an unattended appliance. It has to keep receiving and printing jobs while the device sits on a counter with nobody holding it, and it has to come back by itself after a power cut or reboot. These permissions do that and nothing else. No data is collected through them.

Battery optimisation exemption — optional

The app may ask to be exempted from battery optimisation. Device power managers otherwise shut down the printing service after a period of inactivity, and printing then fails silently — typically discovered when a customer is already waiting for a receipt. You are asked explicitly and may decline; the app still runs, but may be stopped by your device.

Network and USB access

Used to reach our server over HTTPS and to reach your printer over your local network or a USB cable. The app blocks unencrypted connections to our server.

Receipts and tickets that pass through

Print jobs contain the order information your own business created in Autohisab — items, amounts, and any customer name your staff recorded on the order. The app receives a job, sends it to the printer, confirms it printed, and does not retain it afterwards. That content belongs to your business; we process it only to deliver it to your printer.

Security

All communication with our servers uses HTTPS, and the app refuses unencrypted connections outright. Pairing tokens are stored on our servers as hashes, and on your device in the operating system's private app storage. A paired device can only ever see print jobs for the outlet it is paired to.

Keeping and deleting your data

A device record exists for as long as the device is paired. Unpair it from Autohisab, or uninstall the app, and the record and its token are removed. You can also ask us to delete it, or to send you a copy of what we hold, using the contact address below.

Children

Autohisab Bridge is a tool for business staff and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
