Comment on the exact element, right on the canvas
Pin a comment to a button, a heading or a photo. Teammates reply in the thread, and Resolve closes it when the change is done.

Resolved
In short
Canvas comments pin a thread to an element on the page, not to a spot on the screen, so the comment follows the element when the layout moves. Anyone editing the page can reply, Resolve or Reopen a thread, and Clear resolved tidies them away.
The problem it solves
Feedback by chat message says "the button near the top", and three people spend ten minutes working out which one.
How it works
4 steps, start to finish
-
1
Add comment
Choose Add comment, then click the element you want to talk about.
-
2
Write it
Type in Leave a comment and post it; a pin appears on that element.
-
3
Reply in the thread
Teammates open the pin and reply, then press Enter.
-
4
Resolve
Resolve closes the thread; Reopen brings it back, and Clear resolved tidies up.
In detail
What canvas comments does for you
-
Pinned to elements
A comment stays on its button when the section above it grows.
-
Threads
Replies stay under the comment they answer.
-
Resolve and reopen
Close a thread when it is done, reopen it if it is not.
-
Live for everyone
New comments and resolutions appear for teammates on the same page as they happen.
-
Never lost
If the element is deleted, its thread moves to the side instead of disappearing.
-
No. Comments live in the page builder and never appear on the storefront.
-
The thread is kept and moved to the side, marked as being on an element that has been deleted, so the discussion is not lost.
-
Yes. Delete removes a thread and its replies.
