When one outlet sells another's stock, see who owes whom

The Outlet Settlement Report shows which outlet holds the money and which outlet owns the items, nets it down to one transfer per pair, and records the settlement between accounts.

In short

The Outlet Settlement Report matches the outlet whose account took the payment (Holds) against the outlet that owns each item sold (Owns), and suggests the single transfer that settles each pair. Record moves the amount between the two outlets' accounts, and Undo reverses it.

The problem it solves

When the branch sells stock that belongs to the main shop, the money lands in the wrong till. By month end nobody can say which outlet owes which, or how much has already been paid back.

How it works

4 steps, start to finish

  1. 1

    Give items an owner

Items belong to an outlet; any outlet can still sell them.

  2. 2

    Open the report

Pick a date range. Only fully paid orders count, dated by when the payment was received.

  3. 3

    Read the suggestion

Suggested settlements show one transfer per outlet pair, netted from the full obligations.

  4. 4

    Record it

Choose an account on each side and the amount; the payer's account is debited and the receiver's credited.

Common queries

Questions people ask

  • The outlet whose account received the payment. Payments into an account with no outlet show under Business / Central.
  • Not until it is fully paid. Part payments are listed separately and are not in the settlement.
  • Yes. Undo on the Recorded tab removes it and reverses both account balances.
  • No. The amount is capped at what is actually owed for that pair, and the date cannot be in the future.
