Set up VAT and the taxes you charge, once

Tax Management keeps each tax with its type, rate and mode. Give items their taxes, and every sale works them out line by line, inclusive or exclusive.

In short

Tax Management stores each tax with a name, a type such as VAT, Service Charge or TDS, a rate as a percentage or fixed amount, and a mode, Exclusive (added to price) or Inclusive (included in price). Items carry their taxes, and the POS shows each one by name and rate.

The problem it solves

When VAT is typed onto every bill by hand, one cashier adds it on top, another assumes it is included, and the monthly return never matches the sales.

How it works

4 steps, start to finish

  1. 1

    Add a tax

Name it, pick its type and enter the rate as a percentage or a fixed amount.

  2. 2

    Choose the mode

Exclusive adds the tax to the price; Inclusive takes it out of the price.

  3. 3

    Assign it to items

In the item form's Taxes section, pick the taxes that apply.

  4. 4

    Sell

Each sale works the tax out per line and shows it by name in the totals.
