Correct a count in seconds, with a reason on record

When the shelf and the screen disagree, add or subtract stock and say why: count correction, damage, waste, theft or use. The change is logged and the alerts are checked again.

In short

Stock Adjustment adds or subtracts stock for one item and records a reason: Stock Adjustment, Count Correction, Waste/Spoilage, Damage, Theft or Used/Consumed. Every adjustment becomes a movement with a running balance and rechecks the low stock alerts.

The problem it solves

A count fixed by typing a new number over the old one leaves no trail, so a missing crate of water looks the same as a typing mistake.

How it works

4 steps, start to finish

  1. 1

    Choose Adjust

On the Inventory Dashboard, press Adjust on the item or variant.

  2. 2

    Add or subtract

Pick the direction and the quantity; the full Stock Adjustment page also takes a unit price and notes.

  3. 3

    Give the reason

Count Correction, Damage, Waste/Spoilage, Theft, Used/Consumed or a plain Stock Adjustment.

  4. 4

    Save

The movement is logged with the new balance and the low stock levels are checked.

Common queries

Questions people ask

  • A change with a reason keeps the movement history honest, so later you can tell damage from theft from a miscount.
  • The page says so, and a record is created when you save the adjustment.
  • Yes, through MCP. The adjustment is previewed first and only applied with the confirmation that preview returns, and it will not take stock below zero.
